Abingdon CampusLearners’ work will be mainly operational with some complexity. They will contribute to the thinking around their work, analysing information to inform choices and actions. Working with and influencing others through their work will create short-term value for a wider audience. Using a framework of HR and Learning and Development understanding, behaviours and skills development, this qualification offers an opportunity for learners to transition to employment as people managers.
This qualification extends and fosters a deeper level of understanding and application and naturally progresses learners’ expertise in people practice. It is suited to individuals who are already working at a supervisory level in people management, and wish to develop their knowledge and skills to help shape organisational value. Students will be working towards or working in a manager role. Delivery of this course will be blended with a mixture of online and face to face lessons. Tutorials will be held for individual students immediately after timetabled sessions for up to one hour (approx 3 sessions during the programme for each student at this time).
There are also extra costs for students to consider. There are copies of core texts available in the library, but students may wish to purchase their own.
It is a requirement of the course that students must also join the CIPD as a studying member. Fees are set by the CIPD and published on their website here: https://www.cipd.org/uk/membership/membership-fees/
You may also be encouraged to attend a CIPD student conference. This is optional and would be at the students’ expense, fees are set by the CIPD and vary annually.
As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.
There are bursaries available to help you with other course costs. Call 01235 216 212 for more information.
The rules on fee reduction are complicated and we would encourage you to talk to our Admissions staff on 01235 216 400 to discuss your options. You can find more information on our Fees and Bursaries page - search "Fees and Bursaries" at the top of the page.
