This is a follow-on course from Intermediate B level. Learners will, in an interesting and supportive learning environment, continue to understand and make yourself understood in a range of increasingly unpredictable everyday situations. The focus of this course will be on speaking and listening. The course will include writing short paragraphs in Pinyin, developing some basic skills in writing Chinese characters.

Although this is a continuation course from Improvers, but it is open for all who consider themselves competent at this level.

The main topics we will cover for this course are:

To plan for a holiday or weekend.

To order a meal in restaurant, making a choice of drinks and dishes.

The Rhetoric question: It is snowing and you wear so little, how could you not end up in hospital?

If you are to gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from your language learning, it will be useful to spend some time working between sessions. There will usually be a small amount of homework set each week.

The course will equip students with some knowledge on radicals for better understanding of the Chinese characters, with grammar structures for more fluent conversation and for writing simple texts on learned topics.

We will also introduce some culture/traditions alongside the Chinese traditional festivals.

Free parking onsite, bus stop outside. Bring own refreshments if needed. No class during half term.
