This is a course for complete beginners. The main aim is to start to help you to begin to 'get by' in the language. The main emphasis will be on your speaking and listening along with some relevant cultural information
This is a course with fun in mind. It is about trying a new language and learning about certain related aspects of a new culture. You will learn some very basic ideas of the language and start to learn how to build sentences with encouragement from an enthusiastic tutor. All this will be with fun in mind even though there is obviously a serious content.

You will learn the basic way of greeting, courteous, farewell and how to introduce yourself with information such as your name, nationality and profession.

Learning & method assessment
We will use HSK1 as reference book for teaching methods and learning assessments. The learning activities will mainly be organised in pair work/small groups. Homework every week will be based on a summary sheet of the lesson for you to review in your own time.

As this is a non-accredited course, informal methods of assessment will be used. You will be required to complete a RARPA form which represents Recognising and Recording your Progress and Achievement.
