Explore the joy of creating playful characters and imaginative scenes for children’s books. This course explores facial expressions, body language, costumes, and illustrated environments and backgrounds, helping you bring stories to life through colour, composition, and creative experimentation.
Learners will be guided in developing expressive characters and dynamic scenes. Students will explore character design, facial expressions, body language, and costume, alongside environments, backgrounds, and storytelling through composition. Techniques in gouache, soft pastels, and watercolour will be introduced. The course encourages experimentation while maintaining structure, helping learners produce illustrated scenes from their chosen texts.

Completion of Term 01 or basic drawing skills. Curiosity and willingness to experiment with materials

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.
