This advanced and exciting Level 3 qualification provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to work as a top-level Beauty or Massage Therapist, either as an employee for a salon, spa or cruise liner or in a self-employed capacity.
You will be offered a broad range of enriching industry experiences and trained to an exceptional level. The Beauty industry is crying out for fully qualified professionals like you!

This is a vocational qualification including the following units:

Swedish body massage

Stone therapy

Indian head massage

Pre-blended aromatherapy

Facial electrical Treatments

Anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems

Salon Health and Safety

Planning and implementation of promotional activities

What next?
On completion of this course, you may wish to study the Level 3 Diploma in Make-Up Artistry qualification. You may want to add to your skills by completing short courses in specialist areas, for example, nail technology.
Entry criteria
5 GCSEs at grade 4 including English or Maths sOR a pass in the subject at level 2, with English and Maths not lower than a grade 3/Functional Skills L2 and at least grade 4 in one of English or Maths.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also be available to cover the cost of some trips.

Qualifications received
On completion of this course you will receive the VTCT NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Massage.
Learning & method assessment
The majority of the course is practically assessed. You will work on peers and real salon clients regularly. You will also be assessed through assignments, workbooks and exams building a portfolio of written and practical evidence during your time studying this programme. You may also study GSCE English or maths to support your entry to employment or further studies. Most practical assessments contain 3-6 observed assessments. As part of your Level 3 qualification, you are required to find and complete work experience hours in a salon or spa. This is for one day per week for a duration of 12 weeks. This commences in September and should be completed by January.
User skills
You will learn a variety of skills including interpersonal skills and communication skills. As well as practical skills you will obtain a range of transferable skills including written and oral communication, team working and self-directed learning.
