Arabic Beginners B is the perfect choice for learners ready to move ahead with confidence. Refresh your skills, grow your vocabulary and learn to communicate naturally in everyday Arabic-speaking situations at home, at work or while travelling.
Arabic Beginners B is designed for learners who already have some basic Arabic and feel ready to progress at a slightly faster pace. Whether you have completed Arabic Beginners A or simply picked up a little Arabic in the past, this course helps you build practical communication skills for real-life situations in Arabic-speaking environments.

You will develop greater confidence in spoken Arabic while exploring everyday themes such as relationships, daily routines, food, transport and holidays. These topics provide the foundation for meaningful conversations at home, in the workplace or while travelling.

The course also builds on the introductory grammar covered in Beginners A. You will strengthen your understanding of key grammatical structures, develop your use of tenses and improve word order to form accurate and natural sentences. In addition, you will work on identifying the main ideas from short contemporary texts, helping you build essential reading and comprehension skills.

Please note there are no classes during half ter,.

Entry criteria
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. It is strongly recommended however for those who are new to the language that you have completed the Arabic Beginners A course. If you are a “Rusty” beginner, it is recommended that you speak to one of our tutors who will be able to assess the appropriate level of course for you.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2026 prior to starting the course.

Fee information
A textbook is used to accompany the course, but it is optional to buy this (average cost £20 - £25). The textbook will support your learning for at least 1 year. You may also like to buy a small dictionary. Your tutor will be able to advise you at the first session.

As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate.

There are bursaries available to help you with other course costs. Call 01235 216 212 for more information.

The rules on fee reduction are complicated and we would encourage you to talk to our Admissions staff on 01235 216 400 to discuss your options. You can find more information on our Fees and Bursaries page - search "Fees and Bursaries" at the top of the page.
