Start speaking and understanding Arabic from day one with this friendly and engaging course designed for absolute beginners.
Arabic - Beginners is a fun and interactive introduction to the Arabic language, perfect for those with no prior knowledge. Through a wide range of enjoyable and practical learning activities, you’ll be supported in building your skills step by step in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

You’ll be introduced to the Arabic alphabet and learn how to read, write and pronounce letters and words. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to take part in basic social interactions such as introducing yourself and others, exchanging greetings, asking simple questions and extending invitations. You'll also develop an understanding of essential cultural norms and social customs across the Arabic-speaking world, with a particular focus on the differences between standard Arabic and spoken varieties, especially Egyptian dialect.

Topics are presented in a logical, beginner-friendly order to help you make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed. You’ll cover key areas including Arabic letters, numbers, personal pronouns, prepositions, and useful everyday words and phrases.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to begin their Arabic journey with confidence and clarity, supported by activities that make learning both accessible and enjoyable.

Learning & method assessment
This is not an accredited course so there is no formal examination. However, your tutor will ask you to complete informal assessment exercises and will give you feedback. If you are to gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from your language class, it will be useful to spend some time working between sessions. There will usually be a small amount of homework set each week (up to an hour work). When homework is not set, it is still a good idea to spend about that amount of time going over what has been done in class. Learning activities will include individual, pair, small group and whole class work. You will listen to tapes, do speaking role plays, play games and read simple texts.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
