Work for Us

Both the Abingdon and Witney campuses feature modern hair salons packed with high-quality products, equipment and services.

Facilities for students

Every year, we bring through a cohort of fully-trained hairdressing students who are eager to progress into work or take their education further.

There are multiple styling bays within a large working area, giving students space to concentrate and clients plenty of room to relax. Wall and island units, trolleys and large cupboards allow for storage and transportation of products and equipment, whilst several backwash units allow for another key service in a professional hair salon environment.

And if you hadn't guessed by the big logos in the salons, the College has a partnership with The Lee Stafford Education programme! Lee is a regular visitor to the our salons, providing masterclasses for students and passing on his many years of expertise. Lee is very passionate about vocational education, bringing his energy and ideas into how the courses are taught, and this means students are getting the latest industry skills to take into their careers.

Facilities for employers

We also host local employers from the community at the College, through a series of events during the academic year. In the past, Lee Stafford has delivered many industry-related demonstrations and has also teamed up with Adam Browne (International Artist/Colorist for Redken) to showcase the latest techniques in colouring.

Gareth Clark and Mike Taylor from the Great British Barbering Academy have also provided workshops and demonstrations on male grooming and hairstyles. The academy is dedicated to providing trained barbers and novices with the skills needed to reach new heights in this expanding industry.

Gareth and Mike demonstrated techniques such as the use of a cut-throat razor and clippers as well as explaining some of the interesting history behind this exciting industry.

Facilities open to the public

The salons are also available for public use, with our students running the reception and waiting area, consulting with clients and gaining important customer service skills. Supervised students will also be responsible for cutting and styling hair, providing them with invaluable training and direct client-side experience.

Services & Costs

The services we provide are based within our college training environment and, although we aim to provide a high standard, we would appreciate that you consider the following when making your booking with us:

  • duration of treatments can vary
  • booking times may be limited
  • training conditions are reflected in the treatment price
  • all students are undergoing training, including the receptionists
  • skin tests are required every term and 72 hours prior to colouring and tinting services
