This course focuses on consolidating independent living skills to enable learners to transition to life beyond college.
Students will have the opportunity to run an onsite snack shop serving a variety of hot and cold snacks. The course includes work experience opportunities, accessing the local community, developing their communication skill and consolidating their independent living skills, which include travel training, money handling and problem solving.

This course is 3 days a week 9.00am – 3.30pm, every day, apart from Wednesdays, when the students finish at 2.30pm.

It is likely that this would be the students final year in college and progression routes would be discussed at the final EHCP Annual Review meeting. Options could include Yellow Submarine, Farmability, ICE centre and various other adult social care packages. Staff will work alongside families and social care to ensure a clear pathway into adulthood is identified.

Course units
Personalised according to students needs but will cover topics such as using public transport, handling money, cooking skills, personal health, and hygiene, keeping safe and communication skills.
What next?
