This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.
The ten-week course will explore: - Schools as organisations - Main Policies and Procedures - Health & Safety - Safeguarding - Healthy Lifestyles - The main stages of development, from birth to 19 years - How to communicate effectively with children, young people and adults - Characteristics of Teamwork - Equality & Diversity - Learning and the Curriculum

Please note there will be no class 31/10/2024.In order to avoid disappointment it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.

Learning & method assessment
Learners will be able to participate in weekly, classroom activities to build and share knowledge alongside their peers and create a portfolio of evidence. There will be opportunities to have discussions, do short presentations, design leaflets and complete a diary to reflect on weekly lessons. To track your progress and achievement you will be required to complete a short document.
