Didcot LibraryThis qualification is designed to prepare learners to enter the world of work. The course will help learners to develop and enhance skills that are required for the workplace, such as confidence and motivation and will also provide a basis for further study.
Learners will have the opportunity to explore how to communicate with colleagues, and how conflict is dealt with within their own environment/organisation.
They will also be made aware of relevant health and safety requirements, procedures and equipment. Recognise and manage risk by following safe working practices.
Explore the principles of customer service, and the benefits of good customer service. Understand the value of first impressions, and the importance of respect for the individual in relation to good customer service.
Please note there are no teaching sessions on 22/12/23 and 29/12/23
Learners can progress to the next levels to further enhance their skills and prepare for the workplace. There are also other qualifications available through OAL.

The method of assessment for the qualification is through a portfolio of evidence that the learner will create with their tutor. Learners will have the opportunity to complete worksheets, participate in group and pair work as well as completing peer and self-assessments. The tutor will also observe the learners in the classroom and have opportunities to give feedback.
