A follow-on course from the Becoming a Life Coach and a good starting point to learn more about the concept of Life Coaching and how it can help you in life.

In order to avoid disappointment, it is advisable to enrol at least 2½ weeks prior to the course starting. We will confirm course information two weeks prior to the start date.

Who is this course for?

It will be a friendly, fun course with lots of guided, inclusive sessions in a safe environment. You will need a desire to examine new models and methods that support you moving yourself forward. Learning a new way of looking at ourselves and how to recognise the personality types of those around us.

What the course will cover:

This course offers an opportunity to learn life coaching traits and the skills needed to coach. Explore the rules of the game, money and how to coach around it. How to diagnose others needs and utilise good listening and questioning skills. Being an attendant when looking at Past - Present - Future. The importance of goal setting and practice setting SMART goals. Create your own action plan with your next steps.

When to use the GROW Model, gain rapport and get past your blocks. Identify some time management tools. Use the Wheel of Life or Mind Maps to coach others and ourselves and put your new skills into action in a fun environment. Learn teachniques to analyse body language and manage your first impression.

Lots of fun sessions to give you a good feel for this subject. A good chance to try this new, exciting field, in a fun and safe environment. Books and YouTube - quoted on course.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• recognise the benefits of good listening and questioning skills

• identify the importance of goal setting

• identify when to use the GROW model or other tools such as the Wheel of Life or Mind maps

Entry criteria
No previous knowledge or experience necessary, although ideal if you have attended the Becoming a Life Coach course.

Courses can fill fast, so please enrol early to avoid disappointment. Decisions on whether a course is to run are made two weeks prior to the start date - an email will be sent to you should there be changes to your course or if it is cancelled. Please check your inbox leading up to your course, including the junk folders. For anyone without an email account, our Admissions team will phone you instead.

For the first week of the course you will need to bring a valid form of identification; this includes passport, driving licence, debit/credit card, Birth Certificate or National Insurance card.

Please note - you should be 19 years old or over at 31st August 2023 prior to starting the course.

Courses offered by the college are fully or partly funded by the Government and the published fee takes account of this funding.

Before starting a course, the College is required to check you meet conditions relating to that funding, e.g. age, residency status within the UK/EEA, prior qualification level and employment status. In some circumstances (such as with online enrolments), these checks can only be completed after you have enrolled and paid.

If you are unable to pay in full for this course at the time of enrolment, and the course tuition fee is £300 or more, an instalment plan is available. If this is your preference, please do not enrol online but rather call the Admissions Team on 01235 216400 to enrol.

Once enrolled, Admissions will take the first instalment payment from you and pass on your details to the Finance team who will email you to set-up your payment plan. Please return a fully completed instalment plan to Finance as failure to do so could result in being withdrawn from your course.

Qualifications received
As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. However, you will be asked to complete activities that demonstrate how you are progressing on your course.
Learning & method assessment
The course will include a mixture of presentations, discussion, group work and activities. Handouts will be provided.

As this is a non-accredited course, there is no formal qualification. However, you will be required to measure your progress by completing a RARPA form which represents the Recognition and Recording of your Progress and Achievement.
